Embracing Imperfections: The Beauty of Authenticity

Maybe we’ve gotten it mixed up in our heads, the quest for Authenticity is a quest for perfection. Like if we are authentic that means we have to do all the things perfectly and be all the perfect things.

Authenticity is about being human and real and raw.

The road to Authenticity is messy and vulnerable and bumpy.

There is nothing perfect about getting there or being there.

You are a human person, with all the great and grand and good stuff. And much as we hate to admit it, we’re filled with messy, mucky, and mired stuff too.

But that’s what makes Authenticity beautiful.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

If you take a close look at any work of art and you will see imperfections and dark places and bright places. Maybe the canvas has been painted over several times creating texture in the painting. Maybe the artist meant for that to happen.

You are created with all the same aspects; dark, bright, painted over and refined. You are far from perfect, but you are beautifully, Authentically you.
